Since 1998, The National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) has provided a national review and approval service for graduate programs in school psychology. The Graduate Program in School Psychology at Francis Marion University has been nationally recognized by this accrediting body since 2001. The FMU Psychology Department continues to develop its presence in this organization and in the field of psychology through faculty and student participation at national and multi-national conferences such as the NASP Annual Convention. At these conventions, faculty members in our department have presented research and hot topics surrounding the discipline. Students have also had the opportunity to present their final research projects at poster sessions, which allows them to not only display and discuss their peer-reviewed bodies of work, but also provides them with networking opportunities.
At the 2016 NASP Convention held in New Orleans, LA, several of our school psychologist candidates presented their faculty supervised research projects. The School Psychology program at FMU boasted a 100% acceptance rate for scientific poster submission at this past year’s convention. Posted below are a few samples of the scientific posters that were accepted for display at this year’s convention. In addition to a comprehensive education, our program offers students the opportunity to perform meaningful research with our distinguished faculty as they work towards degree achievement. The FMU Psychology Department is proud to be represented by our highly motivated students and their scholarly work.
